Sharon Keller

Professor Sharon Keller joined UDC David A. Clarke School of Law in 2012-13 to teach Legal Reasoning and direct the The Mason Enhancement Program for Academic Success. A native Washingtonian, she developed an interest in learning theory during her co-op work assignments as an undergraduate student at Antioch College and did graduate study in educational theory before attending law school.

Professor Keller began her legal career as an associate attorney at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Covington & Burling. Her practice included the reorganization of the Farm Credit system and other administrative law matters, insurance and tax-exempt entities; she also served a six-month pro bono assignment to D.C.’s Neighborhood Legal Services.

She became an associate professor of law at the University of Miami and later an assistant dean of academic affairs for matters related to improving academic achievement and bar passage. She has been an associate professor at Gonzaga University School of Law and has visited at the University of Maryland School of Law, Penn State Dickinson School of Law and Wayne State University School of Law where she also directed their Academic Success Program. She has taught Contracts, Sales, Corporations, Agency & Partnership, Law and Education and Administrative Law and has written in the area of law and education and and on legal education. She returned home to Washington, D.C. and founded Legal Ed Services, a private service for law students and law faculty. She is pleased to bring her insights to the law students at UDC Law.
