Saba N. Ahmed

Saba Ahmed is a Clinical Instructor in the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic at the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law.

Before coming to UDC, Saba was a staff attorney with the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition in Washington, DC. At CAIR Coalition, Saba represented detained immigrants in their removal proceedings in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals. She also trained and mentored pro bono attorneys and assisted unrepresented immigrants in their pro se applications. Saba focused on fighting the disproportionately harsh immigration consequences of criminal convictions.

Saba has also represented clients in their affirmative immigration applications, managed a refugee resettlement program, and researched and written on various issues pertinent to immigrant communities, such as persistent spatial segregation and the punitive nature of immigration detention.
