Jerome Hughes
Clinical Instructor, Supervising Attorney, LLM Fellow

Jerome Hughes is a Clinical Instructor and Supervising Attorney in the Housing & Consumer Law Clinic and the Community Development Law Clinic at UDC David A. Clarke School of Law. After graduating from law school, Jerome worked with local nonprofits, universities, and community foundations on social and economic development in the Blackbelt and Gulf Coast region.

Jerome transitioned to legal practice after completing a graduate management degree where he examined employee and shared ownership arrangements with an emphasis on conversions and leveraged buyouts. His practice focuses on affordable housing and shared ownership transactions. Most recently, he has worked with a public housing agency on their housing portfolio, a boutique law firm on affordable housing and tax credit financing, and a local nonprofit on affordable housing development.

Jerome completed undergraduate studies in Alabama and is a graduate of Harvard Law School and MIT.
