Academics
- Our Approach
- J.D. Curriculum/Courses:
- Experiential Education at UDC Law:
- Community Service Program: Through the Community Service Program, each student completes 40 hours of pro bono local legal service during the first year.
- Clinical Program: Each student participates in at least two of the School's clinics while completing the J.D. program.
- Summer Public Interest Fellowship Program: Through the Summer Fellowship Program the School subsidizes students while they perform full-time public interest legal work.
- Externship Program: Through the Externship Program students may earn academic credit for full or part-time public interest legal work.
- Service-Learning Practicum & Seminar: Combines classroom instruction with hands-on lawyering in a three-credit course organized around a week-long service learning trip during spring break.
- UDC Law Faculty
- Pathways to Practice: Pathways are guided curricula for J.D. students who wish to specialize in a certain kind of law.
- Academic Success Program (ASP): ASP provides academic support services through programs and materials designed to help students improve their own learning.
- Dean's Fellowship Program: The Dean's Fellowship Program recognizes students who perform well academically during the first year.
- Law Review: Website for the UDC Law Review, a student-run periodical that publishes articles of topical legal interest.
