Cindy Hallberlin '82, President and CEO of Good360

Cindy Hallberlin '82 is President and CEO of Good360, a nonprofit that handles corporate product donations. Prior to joining Good360, Cindy Hallberlin served as the Chief Ethics, Diversity and Accountability Officer with U.S. Foodservice. She possesses nearly 30 years of experience in labor and employment law, alternative dispute resolution, ethics and compliance, and corporate social responsibility.

At the US Postal Service, Cindy Hallberlin addressed a backlog of 37,000 employment discrimination complaints by developing the award-winning REDRESS mediation program, which successfully resolved more than 80 percent of discrimination claims and resulted in $60 million in cost avoidance. Soon after, she became the the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at U.S. Foodservice following a $1 billion fraud. In this role, she contributed to the cultural transformation of U.S. Foodservice by developing exceptional ethics training programs, a risk assessment strategy and a model code of conduct. All of these initiatives helped resolve the company’s legal problems which were impeding its reputation and profitability.

In 2008, she developed U.S. Foodservice’s first nationwide corporate philanthropy program, Full Plates, Full Lives, which raised more than $4 million in cash and product donations to help eradicate hunger in the United States. Cindy has served on several nonprofit boards including The Institute of Conflict Transformation, Dance Place and Liz Lerman Dance Exchange. Cindy holds an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a law degree from Antioch University.
