Sarah Bardos '12 won the Georgia Carty "Fire in the Belly” Award for her work in the Housing and Consumer Law Clinic. The award was presented by Professor Ed Allen.
Sarah Bardos says, "I was deeply honored that Prof. Allen thought I deserved this award. I presume it was because I was willing to try anything to help get some relief for a group of clients whose case had been pending for several years because the administrative system had failed them. As it turned out, the solution I proposed was something that experienced tenant attorneys had been considering for some time, without being able to figure out how to make it work. Not to mention that I was really out on a limb.I was so lucky to have the support of Prof. Allen, Prof. Robben, and Prof. Clark, and the safety net of their expertise. It has been a privilege to work in the Housing and Consumer Law Clinic. And I hope to be able to make a difference in people's lives for the better in the way that Ms. Carty did.”
