Professor Rafael Cox Alomar has appeared twice on CNN en Español recently to discuss current issues in the U.S. immigration system, once in late January and again earlier this month. In a segment for Directo USA, Professor Cox Alomar spoke about the pressure from Democrats and some Republicans to decide the fate of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). In February, he participated in a panel discussion on Choque de Opiniones with Republican strategist Alfonso Aguilar, Fair Immigration Reform Act organizer Isaías Guerrero, and immigration attorney Luis Salgado. The panelists focused on DACA, border security, and other proposed changes to immigration policy in the United States.

In addition to his recent media appearances, Professor Cox Alomar spoke at Georgetown Law on Feb. 26 as a member of a panel titled Third Party Funding in International Arbitration. On Feb. 21, he facilitated a discussion with Gonzalo Flores, the Deputy Secretary General of World Bank’s International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), as part of the Pathways to Practice Series hosted by UDC Law. The series allows students to speak to members of the legal community who are working in positions related to the eight Pathways to Practice available at UDC Law.
