Washington, DC—The discourse during the 2016 Presidential Election has generally been anything but positive. Shelley Broderick, Dean of the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, was part of a special panel analyzing the election on NewsChannel 8's 'News Talk with Bruce DePuyt.'

Dean Broderick was joined by Revered John Crestwell, of Unitarian Universalist of Annapolis, to talk about how disheartening the election has become through its racist, homophobic, xenophobic and otherwise intolerant rhetoric.

'It's gross. You look to elected leaders for inspiration," Dean Broderick said. "I'm going to miss the Obamas every day. You can look up to them and see someone you're proud to have leading your country."

In recent days, the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, has been under fire for comments where he bragged about sexually assaulting women.

"I have a 24-year-old daughter. I have a law school full of amazing women who are all about trying to change the world and change systems and make the world work for vulnerable people. Why aren't we hearing anything the value of women that's positive," Dean Broderick said. "It's tragic."
