Stephen M. KohnFormer Antioch School of Law Adjunct Professor and Government Accountability Project Clinic Director Stephen M. Kohn was quoted today by the Washington Post on the US Supreme Court's unanimous decision in Lane v. Franks. The decision, written by Justice Sotomayor, held that public employees are protected by the First Amendment when they testify about wrongdoing they learned about through their employment.

"Stephen Kohn, executive director of the National Whistleblower Center, said the ruling “will have a direct and major impact on the willingness of public employees to expose corruption in government.”

He added: “The right of every American citizen to truthfully testify about criminal activities, including fraud in government contracting, is a cornerstone to a democracy.”

Stephen Kohn is an attorney, author and nationally recognized expert in Whistleblower Protection law.  He practices in Washington DC at Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto with our alumni Michael Kohn, '85 and David Colapinto, '88.  Stephen and Michael's late sister Estelle Kohn also graduated from the then-DC School of Law in 1994.
