Keeping up with Prof. Andrew Ferguson

Below, Professor Andrew G. Ferguson being taped by the DC Superior Court for a video that will be used to help orient jurors.

The D.C. Superior Court has tapped Andrew G. Ferguson, to help with the Court's new Jury Duty Video, which is played as part of the orientation for all jurors. Ferguson has been interviewed on CNN, NPR, and other news organization as a result of his book, Why Jury Duty Matters: A Citizen's Guide to Constitutional Action. This summer he wrote a series of articles for The Atlantic (on line edition) (available on the importance of constitutional education and civic participation. He was an invited speaker at the National Judicial College, the Council for Court Excellence, and the Law and Society Conference on jury issues.

Professor Ferguson has also been quoted in The USA Today, The Economist, The ABA Journal, and All Things Considered on his work studying the constitutional impact of predictive policing.

This year he had five law review articles accepted for publication in major law reviews and was an invited speaker at the Oklahoma Law Review’s annual symposium.

Finally, Professor Ferguson helped create and co-directs the "Getting Scholarship into Court” project with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). This project identifies cutting edge scholarship useful for trial lawyers and judges and provides publishes summaries of these articles in The Champion Magazine.
