Prof. John Brittain Publishes New Book Chapter on Charles Hamilton Houston

Professor John Brittain has just published a short chapter, "A Lawyer is Either a Social Engineer or a Parasite to Society," in a book about Charles Hamilton Houston titled, Charles H. Houston: An Interdisciplinary Study of Civil Rights Leadership.

The book is a set of reflections about one of the premier civil rights lawyers in the 20th Century that developed the legal theory in the successful Brown v. Board of Education (1954) case.  Prof. Brittain writes about Charles Houston's life-long association with the NAACP and his equal support for the Communist Party and the International Labor Defense (ILD), especially in the Scottsboro Boys case.
