An excerpt from the WAMU show:

“The Spy Behind Home Plate” makes its D.C. premiere on Friday, May 24 with two screenings at the Avalon Theater in Chevy Chase. “It was a no-brainer that we start in Washington on Memorial Day weekend, when we honor those who fought in all our wars,” Kempner said. “I wanted to honor Moe, who served his country.”

Kempner will get to take the field herself on Friday evening at Nationals Park. The Washington Nationals will commemorate Berg by playing excerpts from the film before their home game against the Miami Marlins.

“Maybe he’ll rub off on them,” Kempner said, referring to the Nationals’ losing record. After all, the Washington Senators made it to the World Series during one of the two seasons they had Berg on the team.

“The Spy Behind Home Plate” opens at independent theaters across the country beginning May 31. The full screening schedule is available on the film’s website.
