On April 5, 2019, the Washington Post ran an obituary of Kitty Tucker, '78 and the New York Times followed suit on April 11.  Kitty came to national prominence while a student at the Antioch School of Law through her successful efforts to gain compensation from the Kerr-McGee company for the death of whistleblower Karen Silkwood - whose story was later made into a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep.

According to the Post, "Ms. Tucker devoted nearly her entire adult life to social and environmental causes as an activist and a public-interest lawyer."
