Cari VotavaCongratulations to Antioch Law alumna Cari Votava upon publication of her book, "License to Drill A Manual on Integrity Due Diligence for Licensing in Extractive Sectors," by the World Bank.

The book is aimed at helping countries improve regulatory background checks in extractive licensing in order to reduce corruption in those sectors.  Many of the world’s poorest countries suffer from high corruption.

The World Bank announced the publication's launch on its website: License to Drill: How to Reduce Corruption in Extractives Sectors.

The Extractives Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI, international standard setter for extractives sector transparency) has invited Cari to serve as a guest blogger. Last year, EITI posted the following article after their annual conference on beneficial ownership disclosure: Extractives Sector Corruption: What we have learned.
