About the organization: The Civil Rights Coalition on Police Reform, convened by the national Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, includes 40 national civil and human rights organizations that meet weekly to develop policy and legal strategies to address ongoing killings and brutality of minorities, particularly African American men, women and youth, by police officers nationwide. The coalition primarily seeks to reform outdated, biased, and inappropriate policing tactics, while ensuring necessary accountability and creating better, more sustainable relationships between the community and police. It also seeks to enhance and coordinate our joint efforts to promote multifaceted police reform.
