2020 Muslim Law Symposium:

Religious Freedom and Gender Equity

Morning and Afternoon Discussions

Closing Town Hall Dialog

The 2020 symposium focuses on Muslim Women and the Law. The topic is designed to be broad to include vulnerability narratives concerning hate crimes and Muslim women, religious freedom, employment discrimination, and  other issues pertaining to gender equity and Muslim women.Significantly, prior year’s Muslim Law Symposiums attracted over 120 attendees, and the event trended on an American Bar Association list serve.  The Capital Area Muslim Bar Association regularly co-sponsors the event and our speakers have included representatives from CAIR, Muslim Advocates, Washington Lawyers Committee, American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, Southern Poverty Law Center, along with others. A unique aspect of the symposium is that we end with a town hall dialogue building a call to action.

Free of Charge - Everyone is Welcome!
