Is the Purchase of PEPCO by Exelon

in the Public Interest?

Two panels of experts will examine the question of whether or not the proposed purchase of PEPCO is in the public interest.

Wednesday, April 8

7-10 pm

UDC Clarke School of Law

4340 Connecticut Ave., NW Washington, DC 20008

The first panel, which will begin at 7 pm and which is still "under construction," will include DC Councilmember Mary ChehTim Judson, Executive Director of the Nuclear Information & Resource ServiceTyson Slocum,  Director of Energy at Public Citizen and UDC law student Jessica Christy who will argue the pro-Exelon takeover case.

(N.B. Marc Battle of PEPCO, previously noted as "invited," will not participate. The School of Law Environmental Law Society sought invite to present a proponent of the Exelon takeover who was not a Pepco or Exelon employee and not a stockholder of either company, but was unable to find such a person.)

The second panel of legal experts will begin at 8:30 and will include:

Attorney and Georgetown Law Professor Scott Hempling, DC People's Counsel Sandra Mattavous-Frye, '83; Maryland People's Counsel Paula Carmody, '80 and Diana Moss, President, American Antitrust Institute
