The Director of the Academic Success Program and members of the doctrinal faculty participate in the not-for-credit pre-bar examination preparation series that is available for students who are in the spring semester of the third-year. The series, which is designed to supplement BAR/BRI and other commercial bar preparation courses, covers exam-taking techniques, doctrinal review, and essay-writing.
The ASP faculty conducts a series of workshops between January and the end of April. For the first two months, each session consists of one hour devoted to answering MBE questions; a second hour is devoted to building issue-identification and essay-writing skills, focusing on the same MBE area; and a one-hour review lecture is presented by a faculty member on topics associated with one of the six MBE subjects. The faculty presentation serves as a doctrinal review and preview for the next week's MBE subject. The remaining sessions provide students with an opportunity to practice essay-writing and multi-state performance test strategies.
