Vanita Saleema Snow joined the University to the District of Columbia – David A. Clarke School of Law Office of Career and Professional Development after a decade in legal services. She is a former managing attorney of the Neighborhood Legal Services Program, where she began her legal career as a Covington and Burling Westwood Fellow. Throughout her legal career, she focused on affordable housing and education disparity issues, which contribute to the school to prison pipeline syndrome. At Georgia Legal Services Program she was a significant force in establishing a State-wide Educational Advocacy for pro bono and legal services attorneys, and conducted numerous trainings throughout Georgia on school discipline procedures and special education law. She graduated from the District of Columbia School of Law in 1997 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Howard University. Her research interests include exploring the role of pro bono legal services as a mechanism to close the justice gap in America’s judicial system.
