Professor Jenna Cobb is a staff attorney in the Special Litigation Division of the Public Defender Service (PDS), where she litigates complex and recurring criminal justice issues, seeking to challenge unjust practices in the criminal justice system.

Previously, Professor Cobb served as a law clerk for the Honorable Denise Page Hood in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She also worked as a litigation associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Covington & Burling LLP.

Professor Cobb received her B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California (USC), where she was a National Achievement Scholar and a USC Presidential Scholar. She received her M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, where she earned the John A. Wade Prize for greatest originality in expository preaching. At Yale, Professor Cobb’s scholarship focused on mobilizing communities of faith to engage in social justice work. During this time, Professor Cobb served as a Trainer for the Children’s Defense Fund Young Advocate Leadership Training program.

Professor Cobb received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. While in law school, she served as Assistant Managing Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and as a teaching fellow and research assistant for Professor Charles J. Ogletree, Jr.
