As previously reported here, Vanessa Williams, '99, has thrown her hat in the ring for a Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana family court judgeship.  She is running against two other candidates in a special election in October for a spot on the "Division G 21st Judicial District Court."

See the Daily Star article HERE.

Williams is currently an assistant district attorney for 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrillioux. She is married to former NFL wide receiver and village of Tangipahoa Mayor Michael Jackson.

The news was brought to our attention by her daughter, LaToiaWilliams-Dyson, a student at UDC-DCSL in the Class of 2014, who is the President of our BLSA Chapter!

Good luck Vanessa!

The University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, www.law.udc.edu, is among the nation's most racially, ethnically, class and age-diverse law schools. Its minimum of 740 hours of clinical public interest legal service - a sum exceeded by most of its students - is clear evidence that the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law is America's preeminent public interest law school.
