Congrats to Brandi Nave, '02, for her recent D.C. Court of Appeals victory. Brandi's client, Keena Waring's insurance company had refused to provide uninsured vehicle coverage in an accident with a DC taxicab driver whose insurer, arguably improperly or illegally, denied him coverage. The trial court agreed that the driver was not uninsured and had granted a motion for summary judgment against Brandi's client, but the D.C. Court of Appeals reversed - and appears to have provided some very firm instruction to the trial court on remand - and a suggestion that Ms. Waring's insurer was not barred from seeking redress from the taxicab driver's company. The University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law,www.law.udc.edu, is among the nation's most racially, ethnically, class and age-diverse law schools. Its minimum of 740 hours of clinical public interest legal service - a sum exceeded by most of its students - is clear evidence that the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law is America's preeminent public interest law school.
