From Friday, August 9 to Sunday, August 11, the School of Law hosted the annual summer retreat for approximately forty members of the Young Democratic Socialists, the youth affiliate of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). On Sunday, DSA national co-chair, author Barbara Ehrenreich (See http://www.barbaraehrenreich.com/) spoke to the group.
Of course, Dean Shelley Broderick was there to listen to Ms. Ehrenreich and take part of the conversation that ensued.
The University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law,www.law.udc.edu, is among the nation's most racially, ethnically, class and age-diverse law schools. Its minimum of 740 hours of clinical public interest legal service - a sum exceeded by most of its students - is clear evidence that the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law is America's preeminent public interest law school.
