Kim Keenan, General Counsel for the NAACP, at UDC-DCSL

On March 26, 2013, Kim Keenan, General Counsel for the NAACP, talked to the UDC-DCSL students about her role as in-house corporate lawyer for the NAACP. Keenan holds the distinction of being the youngest, longest-serving female General Counsel at the NAACP. As General Counsel she negotiates the collective bargaining contracts for the union, handles advocacy for the NAACP, and does a lot of contracts work, cases on the death penalty, and work on marriage equality. She told the audience it is important to use your legal education for social justice.
