On February 26, the Innocence Project Student Association and the Women's Law Society hosted a panel discussion with two preeminent figures in the prisoners' rights and reentry community, Michelle R. Bonner, Director of Legal Services at Our Place DC, and April Frazier-Camara, Community Reentry Attorney & Coordinator at Public Defender Service. The panelists pointed to the inability to gain employment and lack of access to legal services as major barriers to reentry and recommended that law students use their advocacy skills to get involved with initiatives that prohibit the now legal discrimination of people with criminal records.
