The ABA Center for Children and the Law partnered with the David A. Clarke Law School (UDC-DCSL) to house the ABA Children and the Law Collection in the Charles N. and Hilda H. M. Mason Law Library, Dean Shelley Broderick announced. "This collaboration recognizes the achievements of the Law School's award winning Juvenile & Special Education Clinic and its Director Joseph Tulman," she said.
Howard Davidson, Director of the ABA Children and the Law Center in Washington, D.C. said, "I’m really thrilled about this.” Scott Trowbridge ‘07, Staff Attorney at the Center and a graduate of UDC-DCSL who had spent a semester in the Clinic worked with The Mason Law Library's Interim Director, Helen Frazer, to find placement of the collection in the Library for convenient access by attorneys and researchers. Trowbridge says, "This collection is thanks to years of work by staff at the Center, with Howard at the helm. I am just the stray alum that suggested UDC at Howard’s suggestion.”
At more than 4,000 items now, the collection will continue to grow as ABA Center adds new publications. Librarian Yasmin Morais who is cataloging the collection, notes that the online public access catalog is available at www.catalog.law.udc.edu.
