Wade Henderson, President and CEO of The Leadership Conference and the Joseph L. Rauh, Jr. Chair of Public Interest Law, was quoted in Talk Radio News Service (TRNS) defending Attorney General Eric Holder from attacks by Republican lawmakers.
"This is the first time in the history of our nation that an Attorney General will be held in contempt of Congress,” said Wade Henderson.
The civil right activists who gathered today at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. said that race, Holder’s pursuits of immigration and voting rights and "naked” divisive politics are the three factors driving the contempt charges against Holder, the country’s first black U.S. Attorney General.
"The issue of race is a subtle factor,” Henderson suggested.
