Pima County (AZ) public defender Margo Cowan '85 was quoted in the Arizona Daily Star on her client (Jose Terrazas, a 22-year old undocumented immigrant) turning himself in to the U.S. Border Patrol out of desperation.
"He put himself at exceptionally great risk," said Margo Cowan, his attorney and an immigration activist for 40 years."He's an American in every sense of the word," said Cowan, who took his case after Terrazas was incarcerated.
Margo Cowan is a Pima County (AZ) public defender and champion of migrant rights for 25 years. She is also a Sanctuary leader, board member of Derechos Humanos, and co-founder of the group No More Deaths.
