Associate Mason Law Library Director Helen Frazer and former Library Director Vicenç Feliú published an article in the Journal of Legal Education on embedded librarianship titled, "Embedded Librarians: Teaching Legal Research as a Lawyering Skill." The article proposes that law schools draw on the professional skills of their law librarians to teach students advanced legal research and analysis by embedding them in law school clinics. The article also advances a model for embedding law librarians in law school clinics based on an experiment conducted at UDC-DCSL where Mason Law librarians Gail Mathapo and Brittany Kolonay were embedded in several clinics including the Community Development Law Clinic and the Juvenile and Special Education Law Clinic.
