Richard Weingarten '76, Managing Director of Intellecap

Richard Weingarten '76 is now the Managing Director of Intellecap, a global impact advisory firm headquartered in Hyderabad.
Mr. Weingarten has a long and distinguished career in law, venture capital, investment banking, and as an independent financial advisor to a wide variety of firms around the world. He was most recently the founding Managing Director of the Norwegian Microfinance Initiative (NMI). During his tenure NMI made commitments and investments of approximately USD 70 million in more than 80 Microfinance Institutions in 34 countries. Before joining NMI, Mr. Weingarten was the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). UNCDF made investments in Microfinance and Local Development in 28 of the world's least developed countries, primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. Richard is a graduate of Yale University and the Antioch School of Law.

With respect to his joining Intellecap, Mr. Weingarten stated, "I am pleased and honored to become a member of the Intellecap team.
