Ben Petok '11 Quoted in NYTimes on Lowering Fines for NYC Street Vendors

Ben Petok, ’11 alum and Communications Director at the Office of NYC Council member Stephen Levin, is quoted in The New York Times on lowering fines for street vendors who violate NYC laws. Advocates of lowering fines say vendors will be more inclined to pay if they are fined less under a penalty system they regard as fair.

"This really is about finding a way to make these businesses survivable for the owners, and it will increase revenues for the city,” said Ben Petok. "They’re smart legislation,” he said of the bills. "They’re good for city coffers.”
