On March 28, 2012 UDC-DCSL held the 20th Annual Summer Public Interest Fellowship Auction in conjunction with the Equal Justice Works Joseph L. Rauh, Jr. Chapter. Proceeds from the auction go toward supporting student summer public interest fellowships. UDC Law students serve fellowships at a variety of public interest organizations, government agencies and judicial chambers. Professor John Brittain hosted and there were many great items sold including two Rehoboth Beach House vacations, a stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, a train trip to Williamsburg or Newport News on the fully restored Dover Harbor, and two bow ties previously worn by Prof. Brittain. Nearly $11,200 was raised to fund fellowships for summer 2012. In summer 2011, the School supported sixty students, representing at least 24,000 hours of public interest advocacy.
