Maryland Delegate Tiffany Alston '02 Considers Eliminating Judges for Photo Tickets

Maryland Delegate Tiffany T. Alston (D-Prince George's), '02, introduced a new bill in the Maryland House of Delegates that would eliminate judges deciding photo ticketing cases. If the pilot program is passed, a lawyer would be selected to service as "master" to decide the guilt or innocence of those accused by a red light camera or speed camera. This master would be paid directly from the revenue collected from finding ticket recipients guilty.

A disgraceful idea. We need an independent judiciary, not somebody dependent on finding people guilty in order to get paid. Just disgusting.
