Brandon Atwater '10, an attorney at Atwater Law PLLC in Durham, NC,
worked pro bono on a campus freedom of expression case and won an
undisclosed settlement for his client. Atwater said that a
voluntary dismissal was filed last Wednesday and that his client, Roman
Caple, "is very pleased" with the outcome.

Roman Caple sued St. Augustine's College in July 2011 after he was not
allowed to march in the commencement ceremony because of comments he'd
made on the school's Facebook page. The suit claimed the college
violated his freedom of expression and
wrongly denied him the opportunity to participate in graduation after he
had fulfilled academic requirements.
