James King, 3L, interned this past summer at The Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS), representing inmates in parole revocation hearings. Out of all of the interns at PDS this past summer, James King holds the record for the highest number of final revocation hearings (8) as well as the number of years he has saved his clients from having to serve. He also worked on 2 probable cause hearings. Mona Asiner, a Staff Attorney at PDS said, "The professionalism, integrity, and commitment that King has demonstrated to his clients, their families, and client community, serve as a real life example of what a ‘Champion of Liberty’ is.”

James King is the President of the Student Bar Association. He interned at PDS alongside fellow UDC-DCSL students Jabari Jones, 3L, and Tracy Jackson, 3L. Click here to read more about The Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
