On August 17, 2011, Dean Katherine S. Broderick and UDC President Dr. Allen L. Sessoms welcomed the entering classes of 2014 and 2015 Evening Division at a reception hosted by Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) at the U.S. Congress Rayburn House Office Building. The presentation concluded the 8-day Student Orientation for the Class of 2014 and 2015 Evening Division.
Dean Broderick thanked everyone on staff for their hard work in putting together this year’s Student Orientation. UDC President Allen Sessoms also gave a speech where he said UDC-DCSL is "the best public interest law school in the country” and "Washington, D.C. is the best place to practice law.” See below for photos. Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, who has hosted the reception annually for 12 years, was unable to attend at the last moment but sent an inspiring letter exhorting students to work in the public interest.
