Jacquelynne Bowman, '79 alum, has just accepted an offer to be the new Executive
Director of Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS). Outgoing Executive
Director Robert Sable said of her promotion, "The offer came after an
extensive search which confirmed what most of us at GBLS have long
known, that Jacqui is the best-qualified person in the country for this
position." Sable also said, "She is a great manager and a passionate
spokesperson for the rights of the poor. There is no one better
qualified to become the new leader of GBLS and to move the organization
to achieve even greater advances for its clients."
Bowman currently serves as the GBLS Deputy Director and is a nationally
recognized expert in domestic violence law. After graduating from
Antioch School of Law in 1979, she began her legal career working on
behalf of the poor at West Tennessee Legal Services in Jackson, TN. Read more at the Boston Business Journal.
