On March 29th, 2011, the Innocence Project Student Association (IPSA) held a panel, "Guilty Until Proven Innocent: A Panel on Factors Leading to Wrongful Convictions.” Professor of Law Andrew Ferguson, Professor of Law John Terzano, and Eily Raman, Assistant Director of the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, spoke at length about factors leading to wrongful convictions including eyewitness misidentification, jailhouse snitches, junk science, false confessions, forensic science misconduct, bad lawyering, and government misconduct.
