Students Initiate Petition to President Obama to Speak at UDC-DCSL

UDC Law students have launched a petition drive to urge President Barack Obama to deliver the School of Law's 2011 Honors Convocation Address.
In only two weeks, over 450 students, alumni, friends of the School of Law and others have signed the online petition at www.obama2udclaw.com and another several hundred have joined the Obama to UDC Facebook Group at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=641564804&v=wall&story_fbid=409476289804#!/group.php?gid=109914035721647&ref=ts
Prominent Petition signers include:
DC Mayor Adrian Fenty
DC Council Chair Vincent Gray
DC Congressional Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton
Leadership Conference on Human and Civil Rights CEO, Wade Henderson
NAACP Chair, Julian Bond
And US Attorney General Eric Holder told the recent Rauh Lecture crowd that he would not only sign the petition, but would hand-deliver it to the President!
