A Chat with Darrin P. Sobin, D.C. Bar Chief Programs Officer

In February, 2018, DC Bar Chief Program Officer Darrin Sobin, '92, was interviewed by the D.C. Bar's Washington Lawyer Magazine.

In the interview, in addition to revealing interesting facts about himself - including that he is a wine-maker and a dedicated runner - Darrin gave shout-outs to UDC Law, to professor Judge William Pryor, and to his former colleague, our alumna Elizabeth "Betsy" Herman, '77, Deputy Disciplinary Counsel of the DC Bar.

Below is a brief excerpt:

"I was very fortunate to be at what is in my view the best law school in the country, UDC David A. Clarke School of Law, for hands-on clinical work. In my first year, I was in Superior Court handling juvenile matters with other students, while at the same time taking former D.C. Court of Appeals Chief Judge William Pryor’s criminal procedure class, so I was literally applying almost in real time what I was learning. I can’t imagine a better teaching model for future lawyers, and a lot of law schools have since sought to do similar things."
