UDC Law congratulates Chris Pascual, ’18, on being elected President of the DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia Region of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA, Region V).

While a member of the local Hispanic Bar Association of DC, Pascual was introduced to the HNBA. He believes membership in both the local and national HBA benefits law students because it “creates avenues to connect with Latinx lawyers as well as other Latinx law students from neighboring schools.”

Pascual, a fourth year student in the UDC Law evening program, spends his days working as a Judicial Assistant on the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor calendar at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. While at UDC Law, he has maintained involvement in a number of student organizations, including as a member of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) and as President of the UDC Latinx Law Students Association. Pascual also competed in NBLSA’s Nelson Mandela International Negotiations competition, landing “Best Negotiator” honors and placing third overall with his partner.

“I have been taught by an array of professors that have allowed me to strengthen my understanding of the law in relation to the plight of the underserved,” says Pascual, “and (I) look forward to seeing more Latinxs apply to UDC Law.”
