Ahead of the October release of his book “The Rise of Big Data Policing: Surveillance, Race, and the Future of Law Enforcement,” UDC Law Professor Andrew Ferguson continues to gain momentum as a leading authority on police surveillance and predictive policing. This week, he spoke to CNN’s Matt McFarland about the need for a “national conversation” about the likely future of law enforcement. Late last month, Ferguson was quoted in The Pennsylvania Gazette regarding the pros and cons of crime predicting algorithms like those discussed at length in “The Rise of Big Data Policing.”

Join Professor Ferguson in the UDC Law Moot Court Room October 5 at 5:00 pm for a discussion about “The Rise of Big Data Policing: Surveillance, Race, and the Future of Law Enforcement” (set for release October 3 from NYU Press; available now for pre-order).
