Abena McCallister on WJLA-TV

The School of Law salutes the public interest spirit and organizing of Abena McAllister, '13, interviewed on WJLA-TV's Good Morning Washington on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 as spokesperson for her organization Women of Action Charles County (WOACC) in response to the recent reports of children being molested by a now-former public school employee.

Abena and WOACC are organizing a public forum on July 18, 2017 at the Church at St. Charles, 136 Stoddert Avenue, Waldorf, MD 20602.

Watch the interview on the WJLA website.

The Women of Action Charles County MD (WOACC) was founded by Abena McAllister following the Women's March on Washington. The group came together as a way to give local like-minded women an opportunity to gather, talk about issues in their community that are important to them, strategize, and take action to fight for the changes they want to see. With the community rocked by the horrific events surrounding the sexual misconduct allegations against two former Charles County Public Schools employees, the women decided to partner with the Church at St. Charles to have a difficult but much needed conversation, Abena McAllister came to tell us more about the Educational Town Hall meeting happening July 18th that should be on the to-attend list for every family in the DMV!"
