This Washington Jewish Week article heralds the opening of Tzedek DC, a public-interest center at the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law which is directed by long-time UDC-DCSL adjunct professor, Ariel Levinson-Waldman.

Tzedek (which means "justice" in Hebrew!) DC will provide pro bono legal support for low-income people facing debt collection lawsuits and other civil legal issues.  Tzedek DC "opened its doors in February and matches clients with law students, attorneys working pro bono and recently retired lawyers.  So far, the organization has worked with 25 clients.

Tzedek DC also will work on policy reform and community outreach, and has already joined an amicus brief to the Supreme Court!

welcome to our community. You have found a law school that is truly the right home for your values and your commitment to advancing justice. First year law students needing a site to fulfill their community service requirement should be put on notice of the opportunity to work with you. Edgar Cahn, Professor of Law, UDC David A.
