The American Bar Association (ABA) Council on Legal Education has granted approval for the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC-DCSL) to enroll students into a Part-Time program of legal education, beginning in August, 2009. The Part-Time program will expand legal educational opportunity to those for whom a full-time day program is impractical or unaffordable.
- The School of Law is accepting applications for the Part-Time program for Fall 2010. The application deadline is March 15, 2010. (NB: The Fall 2010 application deadline has been extended to April 15, 2010.)
- The Part-Time evening program's admission standards and academic and clinical curricula and programs will be identical to those of the Full-Time day program.
- In recent years, the School of Law has seen a dramatic increase in applications and bar passage rates. This year, nearly 1,600 applied for 125 slots, up35%. In 2008, the School of Law’s first time bar passage rate exceeded 80% nationally, topped 90% in Maryland, VA and DC combined, and was 100% in DC itself.
