Our first Third Thirsty Thursday alumni and friends social and networking happy hour at the District ChopHouse was great fun. Prof. Colin Dunham, Development Director Jaye Lopez and friends, and a prospective student were joined by a couple of dozen alumni from a wide range of years. Our senior alumnus was Michael Bracey, '80, now in the archival research business. Relinda Louisy '83, longtime OAS human rights staff attorney was also there, as was whistleblower law maven Dave Colapinto, '88.
DCSL was represented by Linda Sun, '92 who works at the DC Office of Tenant Advocate, and Linette Lander, '93, who is Asst. General Counsel at DC's Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency. (With advance apologies to anyone not mentioned...) UDC's Class of 2005 included Anthony Fasullo, Todor Hinov and wife, and Tiffani Johnson Greenidge and husband. 2006 was represented by Ben Kull, Matthew Bromeland and Andrew Sowell. Scott Trowbridge held high the 2007 banner and 2008 was well-represented by Yancey Burns, Rosie Chase, Anthony DiMillo, Melissa Millar, Veronica Morales, Alyssa Patzoldt, Ariel Shea, Ajene Turnbull, and Morgan Whitlock. In their first "official" act of alumni-hood, Angela Gandy, Kenya Stevens and Mazi Ucheomumu represented the Class of 2009. Mr. Ucheomumu, in particular, held forth with the Antioch alumni until the hour grew late!
A wide range of juicy gossip unsuitable for publication here, of course, was exchanged, as were a variety of political and economic development theories, and word of a few job prospects. At least one hiring for a part time job resulted, a student housing listing was promised, and who knows what other kinds of other interesting interactions occurred? In any case, a good time was had, and many, sua sponte, vowed to return to the ChopHouse on Thursday, June 18, for the next alumni and friends Happy Hour. We hope, dear reader, to see you there!
