Washington, DC—Jonathan Smith, Associate Dean of Experiential and Clinical Programs at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, published an op-ed in the New York Times today.

In it, Dean Smith explains how protections established through police unions inhibit civilian oversight and how they must not resist much-needed reforms in the wake of recent killings of unarmed black men at the hands of police.

You can read the entire op-ed here.
