On September 23rd, Professor Ifeoma Ajunwa and Dean Broderick met with Piper Kerman (prison reform activist and author of "Orange Is the New Black" ) who came to speak at the University of the District of Columbia.  One of Professor Ajunwa's research interests is the reentry of former incarcerated people and, as a candidate for a PhD from Columbia University's sociology department, she is writing a dissertation on reentry organizations. Professor Ajunwa has been invited to present part of her work at the CRT/Empirical Methods Conference at Fordham Law School to take place on November 6-7, 2014. Professor Ajunwa can be reached at ifeoma.ajunwa@udc.edu for press inquiries and interview requests regarding issues of discrimination against the formerly incarcerated, genetic discrimination, and the privacy and ethical issues surrounding both topics.
