Ferguson in The Atlantic: Harsh Sentences are Killing the Jury Trial

On December 6, 2013, Professor Andrew G. Ferguson has published an article in The Atlantic entitled: Harsh Sentences are Killing the Jury Trial.  In his article, Ferguson cites research showing that stiff minimum sentences increasingly available to prosecutors deters defendants from seeking jury trials in favor of plea bargains, therefore undermining the jury system.  See The Atlantic.
