On March 3, 2013, The Honorable Judge William C. Pryor Chapter of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) at DCSL held its first annual BLSA BALL, deemed, "A Charitable Affair." The event was held at B. Smith's in Union Station and was a night of mingling, networking, and charitable giving.
Students, attorneys, politicians and community members gathered together to raise money for D.C. SAFE, D.C.'s only 24-hour crisis intervention center that dedicates its services to victims of domestic violence. "We are pleased to be able to help in any way that we can," President LaToia Williams-Dyson commented. "D.C. Safe does great work and we are dedicated to championing the organizations in our community that help to uplift those in need."
Food and drinks were served, music was played, and bonds were created. Students had a chance to win one of four $250 bar credits generously donated by BarBri. After the event, the Honorable Judge William C. Pryor Chapter of the Black Law Students Association donated a $750 check to D.C. Safe, with money raised from attendees and charitable givers. UDC-BLSA was honored to raise money for a great cause and excited about next year's ventures.
